This herbaceous border in Muswell Hill had some large weeds which we pulled out. That gave us the opportunity to add some summer colour. In the back ground is Dahlia ‘Morning Sunshine’, yellowing flower with a corolla of light pink. The dark leaves give an added dimension. In the foreground is Leucanthemum x superbum. This cultivar has a yellow tinge to the flower and is an excellent summer filler, particularly for clay soul areas. #londongardens #gardenmaintenance #gardenflowers

Planting up pots and planters in Barnsbury, N5. Two Acer’s and a lot of of herbaceous perennials in purple and blue. I like the concrete effect from the pots, contrasts well with the lush foliage and vibrant greens and purples. #gardenmaintenance #londongardens #gardenmakeover

This small little courtyard was looking a little dingy, particularly after the box caterpillar had destroyed the Buxus. We brightened up the borders with Pittosporum, inter-planted with Carex, Vinca, Hellebores and Fern’s. The Acer with its purple leaves looks great against the back drop of the newly varnished fence. It looks a great improvement and a pleasure to sit in this relaxing courtyard.

We were asked to install Bicycle planters in a communal area, encouraging residents not to chain their bikes to the lamp post. We cleared the area of extensive ivy and large shrubs. The planting needed to be low maintenance and drought resistant. We chose Hebe, Perovskia, Bergenia, Erigeron and Festuca. It should give a more present feel for all the residents.

Just finished a planting job in Muswell Hill. We had to clear the site and incorporate compost to improve the soil before planting. It’s late in the year so many of the plants are coming to the end of their season, but they’ll have all winter to grow roots and be ready to shine next year. #gardenmaintenance #gardenplants #londongarden #londongardens #gardendesign

Brighten up a small corner of Islington. We used plants that are suited to shade and the use of the cotswold stone really lighted the garden. #gardendesign #gardenplants #londongardens #gardenmaintenance #garden

Replacing and installing new raised beds in Highbury. The clients have a young family and during the lockdown last year they all got in the garden growing their own produce. Hopefully the new area will inspire them to even greater fruit and vegetables growing. #gardendesign #gardenmaintenance #londongardens #growyourown

Dahlia’s are a perennial, so although they will die back hopefully the tuber will survive the winter to bloom next year.
